Value added Textiles
Vietnam’s textile and garment industry has been developing strongly and plays an increasingly important role in the economic growth of the country. Baseline and in-depth assessments by SIPPO highlighted the potential of the Garment and Textile sector in Viet Nam and suggested there exist highly capable companies in Viet Nam. However, the companies still need to significantly increase their competitiveness within the fast-paced environment of fashion business and the mode of production is mainly based on the CMT (Cut, Make, Trim manufacturing) which produces the lowest added value. BSOs in the sector face several challenges from lack of human resources, to limited proximity to factories, among others SIPPO is working on an adapted approach to assist the sector while maintaining BSOs in the centre of all interventions.
