SIPPO Empowers Women’s Cooperatives in Ifrane to Access Export Markets
As part of its mission to foster inclusive trade and strengthen export readiness, SIPPO Morocco in partnership with ASMEX, organizes a hands-on workshop aimed at empowering women-led cooperatives in the Ifrane region.

On June 11, SIPPO and ASMEX representatives, along with an international trade expert, visited several women’s cooperatives operating in key sectors such as agri-food, essential oils, and medicinal and aromatic plants. The visit focused on assessing their production capacity, organizational maturity, and preparedness to meet international market requirements.
The following day, on June 12 in Azrou, an intensive training seminar was organized to build the cooperatives’ technical and commercial competencies for export. Key topics included: export readiness (certifications, quality standards, and sustainable production), product adaptation, export pricing, logistics and transport as well as export documentation (invoices, certificates of origin, technical sheets, etc.).
The training provided participants with actionable tools and insights, including how to define and communicate their Unique Selling Propositions (USPs) to appeal to global buyers.
This initiative was warmly received by the cooperatives. ASMEX is now set to take the lead in follow-up actions, including mentoring sessions, support for certification—particularly in environmental and social sustainability—and the integration of selected cooperatives into pilot export programs.
