CSRD Training

A two-day workshop was held workshop for companies from the Food and Natural Ingredients sector, the first day of which was held online, and the second in the premises of the Chamber of Foreign Trade/Foreign Trade in Sarajevo. During the online part, the participants got an insight into the basic principles and key drivers of the "Framework for Sustainable Financing", and the importance of compliance with the EU Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The second day was dedicated to the specifics of CSRD application in these sectors, with an emphasis on mapping key challenges and opportunities, integrating sustainability into business strategies, and creating sustainability reports.

The workshop aimed to enable companies to adapt to the new EU standards, which will soon become mandatory, not only within the EU, but also for companies outside of it. These standards represent an opportunity to improve business, reduce operating costs and open new markets.

Amela Lepić, project manager at CETEOR and expert in optimization of industrial processes and circular economy, and Vedad Suljić, expert in sustainable financing, provided the workshop participants with practical tools and guidelines for successful sustainability reporting, ensuring long-term stability and avoiding potential sanctions.

After this workshop, VTK/STK BiH plans additional trainings for the Value-added Textiles and Technical Wood sector.
